About Sport + Spirit Retreat
Sport + Spirit Retreat is hosted at the Hockey Opportunity Camp on Eagle Lake in Northern Ontario, drawing youth hockey players aged 7–16 from across Canada and internationally. Founded by Sophie McLaughlin, the programme combines on-ice sessions — including breakout drills, powerplay work, and scrimmages — with off-ice video and whiteboard instruction to develop tactical awareness and hockey IQ.
Alongside hockey-specific programming, participants take part in traditional summer camp activities, giving the experience a broader residential camp structure. A dedicated Women's Retreat is also offered. The programme is listed with Toronto as a service area, though the camp itself is situated in Northern Ontario.
