About PowerPlay Hockey Training Centre
PowerPlay Hockey Training Centre in Burlington offers a range of on-ice programmes built around two distinct streams: goalie development and foundational skating and hockey skills. Programmes include private goalie training, goalie packages, learn-to-skate, learn-to-play hockey, and PA Day and holiday camps — serving players across ability levels with more than 20 years of coaching experience behind the operation.
The learn-to-skate and learn-to-play programmes are structured with low skater-to-coach ratios, a detail noted consistently in reviews. One reviewer highlighted a 3-to-1 ratio during spring sessions, with both children progressing to confident independent skating by the end of the programme.
Programme availability is primarily centred on the Burlington area, with the youth demographic (U8–U13) as the core focus, though beginner adult skaters are also accommodated.
What parents say
“My kids started learn to skate in the spring. We were looking for a program with low ratios (3 to 1!) which gave both kids lots of personalized coaching and skating time. By the end of the program both were confident and eager skaters. My son continued on in learn to play hockey. The coaches were fun, giving him little challenges and playful with him throughout lessons. On a particular day my son was frustrated and in true coaching style, they took him aside and gave him a pep talk. Not everyone can reach a heated 7 year old and their approach was both positive reinforcement and lessons to take away and build on. I was very impressed watching the coaches manage that moment and for that alone would highly recommend starting your ice journey in this supportive environment. Overall, I give our first skating/hockey experience 5/5 and highly recommend!!!”
