About Grandview Skating Club
Operating out of three East Vancouver arenas — Trout Lake Community Centre, Britannia Arena, and Sunset Arena — Grandview Skating Club has delivered Skate Canada–certified skating development since 1966. Head coach Jolene Lambley leads a team of certified coaches across CANSkate, PreSTAR, STARSkate, CANPower, Adult Skating, and off-ice training programmes, serving skaters of all ages and abilities year-round.
The club holds Skate Canada Platinum status and runs dedicated Special Olympics streams, including both learn-to-skate and competitive figure skating streams, making it one of the more inclusive offerings in the Lower Mainland. The structured progression from CANSkate through STARSkate gives beginners a clear pathway toward competitive skating. Reviewers note that coaches balance structured skill-building with an environment where younger skaters genuinely enjoy their sessions.
What parents say
“My daughter loves skating with the Grandview Skating Club. The coaches are fantastic, generous and kind. The lessons are structured, but the coaches make sure the kids are having fun too. The 1 hour CANSKATE program is wonderful and the kids progress happily. The more advanced STARSkate program is very unique in that advanced skaters with a range of goals are all welcomed and treated fairly. From those who want to pursue the competitive track to those who enjoy skating an progressing through the levels without competing, Grandview makes sure to work with each skater to achieve their goals. In other words, Grandview Skating Club rocks!”
