About Pacific Elite Hockey School
Founded in 2008 by Glenn Wheeler, Pacific Elite Hockey School has been delivering on-ice and off-ice hockey development for players aged 6 to 17 for over 18 years. Programmes include power skating, a dedicated shooting programme, defence instruction, off-ice shooting sessions, and private lessons, all aligned with Hockey Canada 2022 guidelines. Wheeler holds a Canadian Coach of the Year Award.
Based at the Richmond Centre, the school draws players from across Metro Vancouver and beyond, with a service area that extends to Surrey, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Langley, New Westminster, and as far as Kelowna, Kamloops, and Victoria.
One parent credited Wheeler with building their son's foundational skating mechanics starting at age five, describing the groundwork laid in early summer programmes as lasting.
What parents say
“We give full credit to Coach Glenn for laying down the ground work and cementing our 2016 son's fundamentals since he was 5 years old. I believe we did 2 summer programs with Glenn; my son was age 5 and 6 then. My husband and I think of Coach Glenn often and am grateful for the solid foundation he was able to instill into our son: edge work, repetition, work ethic, compete and repeat. He also had good control over the students even when things got out of hand. Coach Glenn steps in to manage unwarranted situations right away. I spontaneously decided to do this review after seeing the unfortunate 1-star SPAM reviews - it was unwarranted. Friendly suggestion 😊: I know that families come from all walks of life. Parents all carry different burdens as well. If it's not a liability, maybe a handy box of granola bars would be helpful to families that don't have snacks, who then act out their hungry + angry ("hangry"). We can't manage their situations at home and whatever emotional baggage they bring on the ice. But we can ease their pain a little bit at a time, and not have them carry too much of that onto the ice... they might then unintentionally channel their baggage into hurting other kids. All in all: We fully recommend Pacific Elite and hope that everyone gets coaching from Glenn! Edit: Getting his summer hockey legs ready for tryouts - sent our son back to PEHS again this week Aug 4-8, 2025!”
