Quick facts
About The Hockey Lab
The Hockey Lab in Abbotsford focuses on skatemill-based hockey development, using an instrumented treadmill setup with camera monitoring and a harness system to analyse and refine skating mechanics. Technique assessments and video analysis are central to the training process, allowing coaches to identify and address individual movement patterns.
Beyond skating, the facility offers an indoor shooting space and personalised fitness, dryland, strength, and mobility programming. Private and semi-private sessions are available, making the format adaptable for individual athletes and small groups across skill levels. Reviewed clients have noted the skating mill setup and the hands-on analytical approach.
What parents say
“We had a very positive experience here working on my Son's shot in the indoor shooting space. There is also a very fancy skating mill(huge treadmill looking thing) with cameras and a hanging harness. The skating mill looked like it would really help with any levels of skating as the instructor analyzes the video and makes adjustments to their benefit. Most importantly, the staff were super friendly and flexible as we had some family issues come up and had to move an appointment around last minute. Rather than forfeiting the appointment, they allowed us to postpone it to the next time we could come in as we were coming from Chilliwack. This was VERY appreciated as in today's world, people are usually not so accommodating. My sons shot has dramatically improved from our sessions as he had a hard time lifting the puck. He can now lift it and his power and technique has vastly improved. Lastly, for me as a Dad I have gained knowledge on what to look for and work on when we are practicing our 100 shots/day in the garage. Thank you so much Victor”
