About Alberta Edge School of Skating

Founded in 1993 by Lisa Bakken, this non-profit organisation has operated group skating programmes in Edmonton for over three decades. Operating out of Terwillegar and Callingwood Arenas, the school runs structured lessons across a broad skill range — from beginner learn-to-skate through to advanced power skating and junior figure skating.

Programme offerings include Power-Learn to Skate, Learn to Skate, Junior Figure Skating/Edges & Power, and a tiered PrePower Skating stream spanning Power 1–3 and an advanced level. The progressive structure allows skaters to move through levels as their skills develop, with small-group formats across age groups with a primary focus on youth.
